Dr. Alfred Ang is a full-stack AI developer, Agentic AI solution architect and corporate trainer who serves as Chief Technology Officer of Tertiary Infotech Academy Pte Ltd, the Singapore training organisation behind Tertiary Courses. Day to day, Dr. Ang designs and ships complete systems single-handedly, from the user interface and back-end services through to databases, cloud deployment and native mobile apps. That everyday productivity lens matters for a Microsoft 365 audience, because much of Dr. Ang's work is about removing routine office effort with AI. The public portfolio on GitHub now holds more than 300 repositories, and many of them tackle exactly the kind of tasks Copilot is meant to speed up. An HR and accounting platform built with Next.js handles leave, attendance, payroll and expense claims for the academy's own staff, with companion iPhone and Android apps for approvals on the move. A self-service HR portal built on n8n routes leave requests through a human-in-the-loop manager approval step and answers policy questions with a guarded chatbot. A single-file HR tool generates structured interview questions and compares CVs against job descriptions. For writing-heavy work, Dr. Ang built an AI-powered content management system on Next.js and the Claude Agent SDK that drafts content and schedules a weekly blog automatically, and a Claude-powered generator that produces full sets of course documents such as lesson plans and learner guides. Each of these projects started with the same question Copilot users ask every morning: which part of this job can an AI assistant draft, summarise or analyse so a person can focus on judgement?
That background shapes how Dr. Ang runs the Microsoft 365 Copilot Masterclass. The programme opens with an honest overview of what Copilot can and cannot do, how it draws on organisational data through Microsoft Graph, and how a prompt built from goal, context, source and expectations produces far better results than a one-line request. From there, learners move straight into the applications they use most. In Excel, they ask Copilot to explain formulas, highlight trends and build charts from real tables; in Outlook and Teams, they summarise long email threads, draft replies in the right tone and turn meeting recordings into recaps with clear action items. The final topic looks at Microsoft Loop for shared, living workspaces and gives a first taste of Copilot Studio, where learners see how a simple custom agent is assembled, a step Dr. Ang has taken many times when wiring AI agents into business workflows. Dr. Ang teaches by demonstration and iteration: a prompt is written, the output is critiqued, the prompt is improved, and the class compares results side by side so everyone sees why the second version works better. Plenty of time is given to verifying Copilot's answers, protecting sensitive information and knowing when a human should take over, lessons drawn directly from building approval steps into real systems. Learners leave with a personal prompt library and a clear plan for using Copilot in their own role from the next working day.
