HRD Corp Claim Guide: How to Claim Your Training Grant in Malaysia
Under Malaysia’s Human Resource Development Act, registered employers pay a monthly HRD levy to HRD Corp — money set aside for your team’s upskilling. Almost every instructor-led course at Tertiary Courses Malaysia is HRD Corp claimable, so your out-of-pocket cost can be reduced to as little as zero. Expand each section below to learn how.
What is the HRD Corp training grant?+
HRD Corp reimburses eligible employers for approved training from their accumulated levy. As an HRD Corp Approved Training Provider, our programmes qualify under the SBL-Khas scheme — where HRD Corp pays the training provider directly, so you often don’t pay upfront at all.
Who can claim?+
- Employers registered with HRD Corp and up to date on their levy.
- Training for your Malaysian employees (full-time, contract or probationary).
- Courses delivered by an HRD Corp registered training provider (that’s us).
Companies with 10+ local employees must register; smaller employers may register voluntarily on the HRD Corp portal.
The claim process, step by step+
Golden rule: apply for the grant BEFORE the training starts. Claims made after training without prior approval are generally rejected.
- Log in to the HRD Corp portal (e-TRiS) at etris.hrdcorp.gov.my.
- Pick your course & get a quotation from us (email sales@tertiarycourses.com.my or WhatsApp +60 11 2324 4187).
- Submit a Grant Application under the SBL-Khas scheme with the course details, dates, trainee list and our quotation.
- Wait for approval — HRD Corp issues a Grant Approval with an approved amount.
- Attend the training with Tertiary Courses Malaysia; we keep attendance records and issue certificates.
- Submit the claim in e-TRiS after training with the supporting documents. Under SBL-Khas, HRD Corp typically pays us directly.
