Microsoft Copilot for HR equips HR professionals with practical skills to use Microsoft 365 Copilot, SharePoint, AI agents and Microsoft Copilot Studio to enhance and automate HR processes across the employee lifecycle. Copilot can draft job descriptions and policies, summarise candidate information, prepare onboarding materials, answer employee questions and analyse HR data, freeing HR teams to focus on people and strategy. The course is designed for HR practitioners, HR business partners, talent acquisition and learning and development professionals, and HR managers.

You will start with Microsoft Copilot and AI agents for recruitment, using Copilot to write job descriptions and advertisements, screen and summarise applications, prepare interview questions and draft candidate communications. Next you will use Microsoft Copilot for employee onboarding and engagement, creating onboarding plans, welcome packs and FAQs, and building a SharePoint knowledge base that an AI agent can draw on to answer employee questions. You will then apply Copilot to talent development, leave and HR administration, including training plans, performance review support and policy queries.

The final topic covers Microsoft Copilot Studio for HR workflow automation, building HR agents and connecting them to Power Automate flows for requests, approvals and notifications. Throughout the course you will address data privacy, fairness, bias and governance when using AI with employee information. Every exercise is hands-on with realistic HR scenarios. By the end, you will be able to use Microsoft Copilot confidently to streamline HR processes and deliver a better employee experience.

Human resources is one of the areas where Dr. Alfred Ang has built the most practical AI tools. Dr. Ang is a full-stack AI developer, Agentic AI solution architect and corporate trainer, and serves as Chief Technology Officer of Tertiary Infotech Academy Pte Ltd, the Singapore training organisation behind Tertiary Courses, delivering complete solutions across front ends, back ends, databases, cloud deployment and native mobile apps. The academy's own HR and accounting platform, built by Dr. Ang in Next.js, handles role-based access, leave accrual, clock-in and clock-out attendance, payroll with payslips and expense claims, with native iPhone and Android apps that let managers approve requests and drill into attendance and leave history. A self-service HR portal on n8n routes leave applications through human-in-the-loop manager approval and offers an OpenAI HR chatbot guarded by input and output checks. For recruitment, Dr. Ang created a single-file tool that generates candidate-tailored interview questions and compares CVs against job descriptions, an AI interview practice platform where an AI hiring manager questions candidates across six roles, and a marketplace that screens tutor applicants through a ten-minute Claude AI interview. An AI coaching simulator explores redesigning jobs around AI-agent ownership, and a SCORM e-learning module supports workplace security awareness training. These HR projects sit within a public portfolio of more than 300 repositories on GitHub. Each tool was designed with confidentiality and fair treatment of employees in mind, which matters greatly in HR work. Several of them are used by the academy's own staff every day.

Microsoft Copilot for HR builds on that experience by following the employee lifecycle from first interview to final day. Dr. Ang opens with Microsoft Copilot and AI agents for recruitment and interviewing: drafting job descriptions, summarising candidate profiles, preparing structured interview questions and keeping assessments fair and consistent. The second topic covers employee onboarding and HR policy management, using Copilot with SharePoint to prepare onboarding packs, welcome communications and policy documents, and to answer employee questions from approved sources. In the third topic, learners apply Copilot to talent development, leave and employee benefits, creating training plans, summarising feedback and explaining entitlements clearly. The final topic introduces Microsoft Copilot Studio for HR workflow automation and offboarding, where learners build a simple agent that answers HR queries and supports a leave or exit process with the right approvals. Dr. Ang draws on experience building leave approval workflows and guarded HR chatbots to explain why confidentiality, accurate policy grounding and human sign-off matter so much in HR. Each topic follows the same rhythm: a short explanation, a live demonstration, then hands-on practice with realistic HR scenarios, with learners adapting templates to their own organisation's policies. Learners finish with reusable prompts, ready-to-use HR documents and a working Copilot Studio agent prototype for their team.
