What's This Course About

Tableau Data Prep Masterclass gives you the practical skills to connect to, clean, shape and analyse data in Tableau so that every dashboard you build rests on reliable, well-prepared data. Most analytics time is spent preparing data rather than visualising it; Tableau's data preparation features let you combine sources, fix quality issues and structure data for analysis quickly and repeatably. The masterclass is designed for analysts, business users and reporting staff, and also supports preparation for the Salesforce Certified Tableau Desktop Foundations certification.

You will start by connecting to and preparing data in Tableau Desktop, working with Excel, CSV and database sources, and using joins, relationships, unions and data interpreter to combine and clean data. You will learn to rename and split fields, change data types, handle nulls, create groups, hierarchies and calculated fields, and build data extracts. Next you will explore and analyse your prepared data, using filters, sorting, aggregation and table calculations to uncover patterns and answer business questions.

The course then covers sharing insights with dashboards and workbooks, designing clear views, adding interactivity and publishing your work. The final topic consolidates key Tableau concepts such as dimensions and measures, discrete and continuous fields and level of detail, along with exam preparation tips. Every topic is hands-on with realistic datasets. By the end, you will be able to prepare data confidently in Tableau and turn it into trustworthy, insightful visual analysis.
