Generative AI for Strategic Planning shows leaders and managers how to use generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot to strengthen the way they plan, make decisions and turn strategy into action. AI can rapidly analyse markets and competitors, generate and stress-test strategic options, draft plans and communications, and help track execution, giving leaders more time for judgement and alignment. The course is designed for senior and middle managers, business owners, strategy and planning professionals, and project and programme leaders.

You will start by using AI to initiate a strategic initiative, analysing the business environment with frameworks such as SWOT and PESTLE, defining objectives and framing the problem. Next you will develop a strategic and project plan with AI, generating options, building scenarios, defining priorities, milestones and key performance indicators, and applying methods and tools to drive the initiative forward. You will then use AI to manage strategic and project risk, identifying risks and assumptions, assessing impact and planning mitigations.

The course continues with collaborating with stakeholders, using AI to analyse stakeholder needs and prepare clear communications, deploying resources effectively, and tracking delivery against plan with AI-generated progress reports and insights. Throughout the course you will learn to verify AI output, protect confidential information and keep leadership judgement at the centre. Practical exercises use your own organisation's challenges. By the end, you will be able to use generative AI to plan more strategically and execute with greater confidence.

Strategy only matters when it turns into systems people actually use, and that conviction underpins the career of Dr. Alfred Ang, a full-stack AI developer, Agentic AI solution architect and corporate trainer who serves as CTO of Tertiary Infotech Academy Pte Ltd, the Singapore organisation behind Tertiary Courses. Dr. Ang has taken a single codebase and turned it into a franchise platform, ai-mms, that now runs independent Tertiary Courses sites in Singapore, Malaysia and Ghana, a decision that required weighing market expansion, operating models and technical risk. Alongside that, Dr. Ang designed AI-LMS-TMS, a self-hosted learning and training management system with AI agent automation, and tertiary-hrms, an HR and accounting platform for the academy's own operations. Several other projects support planning and decision making directly: IT project-management Kanban boards with portfolio dashboards, KPI tiles and timeline views, a stock-analysis dashboard with an AI agent that explains its reasoning, and AICoaching, a business pitch and scenario simulator for redesigning jobs around accountable AI-agent ownership. In Generative AI for Strategic Planning, Dr. Ang guides learners through the full planning cycle with tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot. The course starts with generative AI fundamentals for strategy, including how to prompt for structured, evidence-based answers and how to spot weak or invented claims. Learners then use AI for environmental scanning and strategic analysis, producing PESTLE, SWOT and competitor reviews in a fraction of the usual time, before generating and evaluating strategic options against clear criteria. The fourth topic turns chosen options into a strategic plan with goals and KPIs, and the final topic covers strategy execution, risk management and performance tracking, including dashboards and review rhythms that keep a plan alive after the workshop ends. Dr. Ang teaches with real planning artefacts rather than theory alone, drawing on the dashboards, multi-site rollout decisions and agent-driven workflows already built at Tertiary Infotech to show what works in practice.
