What's This Course About

This course, Innovating Product Development with 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing, provides a comprehensive understanding of how to leverage advanced manufacturing technologies for product development. Participants will explore key additive manufacturing (AM) systems and technologies, learning to evaluate material selection, benefits, and trade-offs. The course covers innovative product development using 3D printing, as well as reverse engineering techniques using 3D scanning to enhance design and manufacturing processes.

The second part of the course delves into identifying and resolving process-related issues in AM. Learners will analyze requirements for successful AM implementation and explore optimization techniques to improve manufacturing efficiency. Topic 2: Analysing Technical Drawings

  • Types of schematics technical drawings
  • Utilize AutoCAD Electrical tools and features to address technical drawing issues
  • Working with standard part lists – terminals, PLC symbols
  • Analyze technical drawing standards to determine construction needs

Topic 3: Drafting Design Documentation and Specification

  • Fundamentals of documentation
  • Review technical drawings to ensure alignment to organization’s strategies
  • Custom symbols
  • Review technical drawings and specifications to ensure conformance to requirements
