What You'll Learn

This course prepares you for the AZ-104 certification exam, covering all official exam domains and their approximate weightings:

Domain 1 Manage Azure identities and governance (22.5%)

  • Create and manage Microsoft Entra users and groups, including licenses and self-service password reset (SSPR)
  • Manage external (guest) users
  • Manage built-in Azure roles and assign RBAC roles at different scopes
  • Implement and manage Azure Policy, resource locks, and tags
  • Manage resource groups, subscriptions, and management groups
  • Manage costs using alerts, budgets, and Azure Advisor recommendations

Domain 2 Implement and manage storage (17.5%)

  • Configure storage account access: firewalls/VNets, SAS tokens, stored access policies, access keys, identity-based access for Azure Files
  • Create and configure storage accounts, redundancy, object replication, and encryption
  • Manage data with Azure Storage Explorer and AzCopy
  • Create and configure Azure Files shares and Blob Storage containers
  • Configure storage tiers, soft delete, snapshots, blob lifecycle management, and blob versioning

Domain 3 Deploy and manage Azure compute resources (22.5%)

  • Interpret, modify, and deploy resources using ARM templates or Bicep files
  • Create and configure virtual machines, including encryption at host, VM sizes, disks, availability zones/sets, and Scale Sets
  • Provision and manage containers via Azure Container Registry, Container Instances, and Container Apps
  • Create and configure Azure App Service, including plans, scaling, custom domains/TLS, backup, networking, and deployment slots

Domain 4 Implement and manage virtual networking (17.5%)

  • Create and configure virtual networks, subnets, peering, public IPs, and user-defined routes; troubleshoot connectivity
  • Configure network security groups (NSGs) and application security groups; evaluate effective security rules
  • Implement Azure Bastion and configure service/private endpoints for Azure PaaS
  • Configure Azure DNS, internal/public load balancers, and troubleshoot load balancing

Domain 5 Monitor and maintain Azure resources (12.5%)

  • Interpret metrics, configure log settings, and query/analyze logs in Azure Monitor
  • Set up alert rules, action groups, and alert processing rules
  • Use Azure Monitor Insights and Network Watcher/Connection Monitor
  • Create Recovery Services and Backup vaults; configure backup policies and perform backup/restore
  • Configure Azure Site Recovery, perform failover, and interpret backup reports/alerts
