What You'll Learn

This course prepares you for the DP-600 certification exam, covering all official exam domains and their approximate weightings:

Domain 1 Maintain a data analytics solution (27.5%)

  • Implement workspace-level, item-level, row-level, column-level, object-level, and file-level access controls
  • Apply sensitivity labels to items and endorse items
  • Configure version control for a workspace and manage Power BI Desktop projects (.pbip)
  • Create and configure deployment pipelines
  • Perform impact analysis of downstream dependencies (lakehouses, warehouses, dataflows, semantic models)
  • Deploy/manage semantic models via the XMLA endpoint; create reusable assets (.pbit, .pbids, shared semantic models)

Domain 2 Prepare data (47.5%)

  • Create data connections; discover data via OneLake catalog and Real-Time hub; ingest/access data and choose between data stores
  • Implement OneLake integration for Eventhouse and semantic models
  • Create views, functions, and stored procedures; enrich data with new columns/tables
  • Implement a star schema; denormalize, aggregate, merge/join data
  • Identify and resolve duplicate data, missing data, or null values; convert column data types; filter data
  • Query and analyze data using the Visual Query Editor, SQL, KQL, and DAX

Domain 3 Implement and manage semantic models (27.5%)

  • Choose a storage mode; implement a star schema and relationships (bridge tables, many-to-many)
  • Write DAX calculations using variables and functions (iterators, table filtering, windowing, information functions)
  • Implement calculation groups, dynamic format strings, and field parameters
  • Configure large semantic model storage format; design and build composite models
  • Implement performance improvements in queries/report visuals and improve DAX performance
  • Configure Direct Lake (default fallback, refresh behavior, Direct Lake on OneLake vs SQL analytics endpoint); implement incremental refresh
