This course prepares you for the DOP-C02 certification exam, covering all official exam domains and their approximate weightings:

Domain 1 Domain 1: SDLC Automation (22%)

  • Implement CI/CD pipelines (code/image/artifact repos, build processes e.g. AWS CodeBuild, deployment strategies e.g. AWS CodeDeploy)
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (unit, integration, acceptance, UI, security scan tests; load/stress testing at scale)
  • Build and manage artifacts (repositories such as CodeArtifact, S3, Amazon ECR; artifact lifecycle)
  • Implement deployment strategies for instance, container, and serverless environments (mutable vs immutable, blue/green, canary)

Domain 2 Domain 2: Configuration Management and IaC (17%)

  • Define cloud infrastructure and reusable components using IaC (AWS CloudFormation, AWS SAM, AWS CDK, CloudFormation StackSets)
  • Deploy automation to create, onboard, and secure AWS accounts in multi-account/multi-Region environments (AWS Organizations, Control Tower, SCPs)
  • Design and build automated solutions for complex tasks and large-scale environments (Systems Manager, AWS Config, Lambda automation, Step Functions)
  • Determine optimal configuration management services and maintain software compliance (OpsWorks, Systems Manager State Manager)

Domain 3 Domain 3: Resilient Cloud Solutions (15%)

  • Implement highly available solutions to meet resilience and business requirements (Multi-AZ, multi-Region, cross-Region failover)
  • Implement solutions that are scalable to meet business requirements (auto scaling, load balancing, caching, serverless, containers)
  • Implement automated recovery processes to meet RTO and RPO requirements (backup/DR strategies, pilot light, warm standby, AWS Backup)

Domain 4 Domain 4: Monitoring and Logging (15%)

  • Configure the collection, aggregation, and storage of logs and metrics (CloudWatch metrics, metric filters/streams, log lifecycle, encryption)
  • Audit, monitor, and analyze logs and metrics to detect issues (CloudWatch dashboards/alarms, X-Ray, Athena, anomaly detection)
  • Automate monitoring and event management of complex environments (event-driven patterns, auto scaling triggers, alert notifications, health checks)

Domain 5 Domain 5: Incident and Event Response (14%)

  • Manage event sources to process, notify, and take action in response to events (EventBridge, CloudTrail, AWS Health; SQS/SNS/Lambda/Step Functions workflows)
  • Implement configuration changes in response to events (fleet management, remediating non-desired system state)
  • Troubleshoot system and application failures (analyzing failed deployments via CodePipeline/CodeBuild/CodeDeploy/CloudFormation, root cause analysis)

Domain 6 Domain 6: Security and Compliance (17%)
